Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership - APNEP- What We Do

Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership

What We Do

The Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program provides both funding and staff support for a variety of efforts that support the program's mission.  Though APNEP maintains a small staff, the program is able to leverage its contributions by coordinating with regional partners.  This section highlights these efforts, which are categorized by protection, restoration, monitoring, engagement, and identification (research) projects in accordance with APNEP's Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan.

Below is an interactive map of funded projects from 2012 through 2018. Through this ArcGIS Online-based map, APNEP hopes to showcase the diverse and innovative projects we've funded throughout our watershed, as well as to provide our partners and public with information about those initiatives.

Welcome to the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership's interactive map of past and present funded projects. You can click on these icons:

Although many projects are interdisciplinary, they are categorized here by their primary Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) component - Identify, Protect, Restore, Engage, or Monitor.

APNEP will be continuing to refine and improve this resource - upcoming plans include adding links to project reports, adding funded initiatives prior to 2012, and adding visuals such as photos and videos.
